In January 2010 compared with December 2009, seasonally adjusted industrial production grew by 1.7% in the euro area (EA16) and by 1.8% in the EU27. In December 2009 production increased by 0.6% and 0.3% respectively.
The EU27 external current account recorded a deficit of 27.0 billion euro in the fourth quarter of 2009, compared with a deficit of 59.4 bn in the fourth quarter of 2008 and a deficit of 27.7 bn in the third quarter of 2009.
